Unique multi-locus protein banding patterns and differences in ploidy were used to exclude plants as members of the same clone. Individual clones averaged about 2 m in diameter and areas of prairie of 100 m2 were calculated to contain an average of 31.8 genetic individuals. %B American Midland Naturalist %V 147 %P 295 -304 %G eng %M KNZ00819 %R 10.1674/0003-0031(2002)147[0295:CSOAGV]2.0.CO;2
