This frequently means converting data collected in the field, usually on paper, into an electronic form that can then be used in a statistical or graphical package by the researcher. The purpose of this paper is to present guidelines that we have found useful in making this conversion as quick and error-free as possible. %B Data and Information Management in the Ecological Sciences: A Resource Guide %I Long-Term Ecological Research Network Office, University of New Mexico %C Albuquerque %G eng %U http://www.ecoinformatics.org/pubs/guide/briggs2.fv2.htm %M KNZ00623 %0 Book Section %B Evaluating And Monitoring The Health Of Large-Scale Ecosystems, NATO ASI series, Vol I 28 %D 1995 %T Comparison of spatial and temporal variability of ecological parameters from 12 North American ecosystems %A Kratz, T.K. %A Magnuson, J.J. %A Bayley, P. %A Benson, B.J. %A Berish, C.W. %A Bledsoe, C.S. %A Blood, E.R. %A Bowser, C.J. %A Carpenter, S.R. %A Cunningham, G.L. %A Dahlgren, R. %A Frost, T.M. %A Halfpenny, J.C. %A Hansen, J. %A Heisey, D. %A Inouye, R.S. %A D.W.
