K-12 Education
Konza LTER includes education opportunities for students in K-12 through the Schoolyard LTER program. Konza LTER is also an integral part of the Konza Environmental Education Program (KEEP). KEEP aims to educate students about ecology and global change, with emphasis on regional grasslands, by engaging students and teachers in realistic and relevant science-based activities focused on long-term data collection at KNZ LTER.
Undergraduate Students
Konza LTER offers research experiences for a large number of undergraduate students. From 1995-2019, Konza Prairie and the Division of Biology at Kansas State University offered a 10-week site-based REU program. Konza LTER still provides site-based summer opportunities for 2-4 students annually. Contact Jesse Nippert if you would like more information.
Additionally, Konza LTER provides hands-on research opportunities for undergraduate research assistants annually. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Amanda Kuhl.
Graduate Students
The Konza LTER program emphasizes quality graduate student training. We foster graduate research involving students attending Kansas State University, Colorado State University, University of Kansas, Southern Illinois University, Oklahoma State University, University of Nebraska, and others.
